This document describes the fields under Utility Manager that need to be completed when setting up a utility for the first time.

FieldsDefinition
NameThis is the internal Utility Name that will be used across OpsAdmin. Example: Centerpoint, ConEd - Gas, PSEG Electric, Rochester G&E (Electricity).
Formal NameThis is the formal name that can be used in Documents and communications to customers. This is the Utility's “official and public name”: Rochester Gas & Electric, Centerpoint Energy, Potomac Electric Power Company, Baltimore Gas and Electric, Public Service Electric and Gas. It may match or not match with the Billing System Utility Name.
DescriptionOptional field.
LogoFile to be uploaded to OpsAdmin with the Utility logo.
MarketMarket where the utility belongs to.
Sample BillFile to be uploaded to OpsAdmin with a screenshot/capture of an invoice.
Billing System Utility NameThis field is how the Utility is named in the Billing System. Example: Centerpoint, Commonwealth Edison, Consolidated Edison, Public Service Electric and Gas - Electric. This field is used in several areas of the system such as Importers or processes involved with the billing system. In ESG, this field can be known as “Distributor Name”.
Utility CodeUtility short name. Examples: CONEDE, PEPCOMDE, AEPC, TNMP, WMECO.
Address 1, Address 2, City, State, Zip code, Phone Number, WebsiteThe utility’s address, phone number and website information. This is used in Documents:

Unit of MeasureThis field is used in Documents as a dynamic field.

Price to CompareUtility’s standard rate that can be used in documents.

FieldsDefinition
LDC LengthNumeric field to describe maximum length of the customer’s LDC. This is used in validations across the whole system.
Use Only Numbers, Dash Format & Truncate digitsThese are all settings to enhance the LDC validation for those account numbers that have a dash format such as: xxxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx or that require some digits to be truncated before submitting them to the billing system.
Divide Monthly Fee amount byThis number is used to divide the monthly fee before submitting this value to the billing system. Example: 1
Pool IDThis field is used by Gas Utilities and it is submitted to the Billing System for new enrollments. For example: _9900009438 _
ZonesFor utilities that work with zip codes and zones. Separated by commas. For example: J (Coned New York City); North (Oncor); Houston, West, South (Centerpoint).
Zip Codes Zone ExceptionTo exclude some zip codes from this Utility. This field was initially added to address a specific scenario in Coned Westchester. Should be separated by commas. Example: 10465,10466,10467,10469,10470,10471,10475
Wizard LDC Label:Field used in the Web Enrollment process to “name” the LDC, such as “Utility Account Number- only letters” or “ESIID”.

Wizard Sample Bill TextDescription field used in the Web Enrollment process to describe where the customer can find their LDC. Example: Your ESIID is located on your bill.

Group NameThis field is used to group several utilities under one single name and avoid confusion in customers that may not know that there are “sub utilities”. Best examples are utilities NStar - BECO, Nstar - CAMB and NStar - COM that are grouped together as “NSTAR”.
DUNS NumberThis field is submitted to ECI with new enrollments. Examples: 061843553
Renewal Alert TextThis is text displayed on a pop up when a customer support operator is about to perform a renewal on an existing customer’s account.
PPU Alert TextThis is text displayed on a pop up when a customer support operator is about to perform a Price Plan Update on an existing customer’s account.
Customer Name Key LengthThis field is used when connecting to the ECI Billing System to submit new enrollments. Example: 4

ETF WindowThis field is used in ETF calculation. The customer’s contract remaining days are compared against this number. Examples: 15,45.
Switch Window & Rescission PeriodThese fields are no longer being used.
Churn IndicatorThis number is compared against the difference between the customers Service Start Date and End Date. It is used inside the Drop Management system. Examples: 15,30
Drop Expiration Window IndicatorUsed inside the Drops Management System. This number is compared against the difference between Customer's Service end Date and contract end Date. Examples:_ 12,30,45_
Start Date Disclosure, Additional Fees Disclosure & New Meter DisclosureThese fields are meant for the Texas Market to inform customers about extra fees when performing a Move in/Switch.
